Jim Whitehurst - CEO and President of Red Hat Wednesday, September 2, 8:30am Jim brings operational pragmatism with technology savvy to the lead role at Red Hat. A technologist at an early age, Jim programmed customer relationship software for stockbrokers as a teenager and attended Rice University as a Computer Science Major. Jim earned his MBA from Harvard and went on to become a partner at Boston Consulting Group. Delta was a major customer of his at BCG. Jim chose Red Hat because it's a company with a strong culture driven by a mission. He is driving strategic focus for the company and narrowing Red Hat's aperture to include initiatives that make Red Hat the best in the markets it serves; the best enterprise technology provider and leader of open source. Jim is also a big proponent in encouraging Red Hat customers to not only consume the company's solutions, but to also contribute back to drive innovation across the entire open source community. |

Craig Muzilla - Vice President, Middleware Business at Red Hat Wednesday, September 2, 1:00pm Prior to Red Hat, Craig was Senior Vice President at MetaMatrix, a leader in data services middleware that was acquired by Red Hat. Craig was also vice president at Avaki Corporation (now Sybase) and Bowstreet (now IBM). Craig holds an MBA degree from Boston University and a bachelors degree from Ohio State University. |

Jess Reed Wednesday, September 2, 1:30pm Reporting to him are the six sigma operations, Internet Business Unit and all corporate systems including internet systems, mainframe and client server operations, ACD and telecommunication network systems, systems security, automated print/mail services, application development and all other enterprise systems for GEICO. He previously served as vice president of systems and also headed the telecommunications department. Reed joined the company in 1974 as a performance analyst. He subsequently served as project analyst, planning analyst and director of telecommunications before being named assistant vice president in 1988. Reed holds a B.S. degree in business administration from Shepherd University in West Virginia, and an M.B.A. from Mount Saint Mary's in Maryland. Originally from western Maryland, Jess now resides in Gaithersburg, MD. |
